For the Major League Baseball (MLB) On Deck program, I participated in an exciting group project, focused on creating a Theme Night proposal to bring in brand new fans. The goal was to bring in an audience who otherwise may not attend a major league baseball game.
At the start of the eight-week program, each group was assigned to work with a specific MLB team and a group of advisors from that team's ticket sales department.
Our group worked with the Toronto Blue Jays organization to expand their specific market. The goal behind our Theme Night idea was to drive ticket sales, attract a younger demographic, and educate fans about the Blue Jays baseball team as well as the Canadian city of Toronto.
We presented our project via Zoom to all of the other program participants, the program leaders, our advisors from the Blue Jays, and the other MLB program advisors.
Out of eight teams, our group won the first-place prize for the best Theme Night idea and overall presentation!
The Theme Night idea we chose for the Blue Jays was Tuesday Trivia Night.
